Durabuilt is looking for an Engineering COOP student to join our R&D and Testing & Development teams for a hands-on, 4-month term starting January 2027. You'll play a key role in shaping how our products get installed in the field - turning CAD models and engineering drawings into clear, professional installation manuals and assembly guides that installers and teams across the company rely on every day.

What You'll Do
- Develop installation manuals, assembly instructions, and installation guidelines under the direct supervision of our Senior R&D Engineer and Testing & Development Engineer
- Create exploded views, step-by-step sequences, callouts, and technical illustrations using SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Composer
- Work closely with our drafting team to source models, drawings, and revisions, keeping documentation aligned with the latest released designs
- Read and interpret CAD models, assembly drawings, and cross-sections to confirm correct installation sequences and hardware callouts
- Maintain and update existing manuals as products and standards evolve, tracking revisions per internal procedures
- Join occasional field visits to active job sites to see the installation process firsthand
- Review relevant building codes, product standards, and specifications, and reflect them in your documentation
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Civil Engineering program, available full-time for a 4-month COOP term starting January 2027
- Strong SOLIDWORKS skills - part modelling, assemblies, and drawings are a must
- Experience with SOLIDWORKS Composer is a strong asset (or a readiness to learn it quickly)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault is an asset
- Comfortable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of the Alberta Building Code is an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - you can explain technical steps clearly to installers and colleagues at every level
