As the Plant Operations Manager, you will lead the daily operations of our tempered glass plant, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while driving continuous improvement and business growth. This role combines operational leadership, engineering expertise, and sales/business acumen, making it ideal for a seasoned professional ready to influence both production and strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily operations of the tempered glass unit, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that drive production targets, process improvements, and cost efficiencies.
- Develop and execute engineering strategies with R&D that align with Durabuilt’s policies, long-term business goals, and customer expectations.
- Oversee sales performance of the glass unit, ensuring alignment with customer demand and business growth objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and senior leadership to meet both short- and long-term business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
- Lead workforce planning, training, and employee development to maintain a skilled, engaged, and productive team.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven analysis, KPIs, and best practices in glass manufacturing.
- Recommend and oversee capital equipment investments, including justification, installation, and operational start-up.
- Ensure all required reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Present data, metrics and reports to senior management as required.
- Other responsibilities assigned.

- Analytical & Communication Skills – Data-driven decision-making, problem-solving, and clear communication with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline required).
- MBA and background in glass manufacturing considered an asset.
- Extensive experience in plant operations with knowledge in the glass manufacturing industry, including proven success in plant operations and sales/business development.
- Strong knowledge of glass tempering processes, manufacturing systems, and quality assurance methods.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing large operational teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across levels.
- Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
- Proven ability to develop and execute both strategic and tactical plans in a fast-paced environment.
