Are you a meticulous financial professional who thrives in a high-autonomy environment? We are looking for a Payroll & AP Administrator to join our team in Edmonton. In this dual-impact role, you will be the "go-to" expert for bi-weekly payroll and essential vendor payment functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the board.

Payroll Management (55%)- Execute full-cycle bi-weekly and monthly payroll for both salaried and hourly staff.
- Manage employee benefits, monthly reconciliations, and year-end duties including T4s, T4As and ROEs.
- Collaborate with HR on the employee lifecycle, from new hire onboarding to departures and leaves of absence.
- Track vacation and banking time while preparing detailed monthly reports on earnings and deductions.
- Control expenses by processing, verifying, and reconciling vendor invoices and monthly statements.
- Schedule and prepare electronic payments/cheques while resolving any purchase order or contract discrepancies.
- Process semi-monthly employee expense claims and analyze invoices to ensure correct cost-center charging.
- Calculate sales tax requirements on paid invoices and maintain organized historical records.
What You Bring
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in both Full Cycle Payroll and Accounts Payable.
- Education: A Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in payroll software (Avanti, Sage 50, or ADP) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge: A thorough understanding of Canadian Payroll Legislation and Employment Standards.
- Integrity: You handle sensitive, confidential data with the highest level of ethics and trustworthiness.
- Certification: Holding a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation (or being in progress) is considered a strong asset.
Working Conditions
- Deadlines: You must be able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight, non-negotiable financial deadlines.
- Flexibility: Standard office hours are typical, but occasional weekend or extended hours may be required during peak month-end or year-end cycles.
- Focus: This role requires intense periods of concentration and the ability to multi-task competing priorities.
